Course on spatial data management with members of the Arhuaco community

How do Indigenous communities manage geographic information?
Together with the Arhuaco Cabildo of Magdalena and La Guajira Sierra Nevada ASOARHUACO SNSM, Esri Colombia, Kadaster and Sacred Forests, we conducted a course on spatial data management with members of the Arhuaco community.

Between Monday, July 29, and Friday, August 2, more than 20 members of the indigenous organization strengthened their skills in collecting, using, and managing spatial information in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This course is a complement to the previous data collection they have conducted using various technologies.

With the knowledge gained from this course, the indigenous participants will be able to organize their geographic information and map forests and sacred spaces to protect and restore them.
