Joint visit with ANT to Koreguaje and Makaguaje communities

After an extensive process of measurements conducted by the Koreguaje and Makaguaje Indigenous communities for the expansion of the La Teófila reservation and the establishment of Nueva Betania, in April, we conducted a joint technical visit between the Land at Scale project and the Agencia Nacional de Tierras (ANT).

During the visit, essential agro-environmental, socio-cultural, and legal characterizations necessary for the processes of expansion and establishment of indigenous reserves were carried out. The productive potential of the land, cultural, and sacred sites of interest were also identified, and a portion of their expansion zones was walked with the communities.

These visits help in understanding the importance of training and empowering the communities in collecting spatial information. Their knowledge of the territory, coupled with methodological and technological support, facilitates more efficient measurement processes.

The Land at Scale project extends its gratitude to ANT for their support and confidence in the application of innovative methodologies in land administration. We will continue to collaborate closely with Colombian institutions on all aspects related to land management.
