Minor councils receive training in Riscales

On May 7, 8, and 9, representatives of the Minor Councils of Riscales, Chocó, received training on management and administration tools for their organizations. The training resulted from a request made after a collective analysis of the state of territorial governance, in a community workshop accompanied by Tropenbos Colombia.

The space was used to present and discuss the results of Alexandra Follador's master's thesis, entitled “Impacts of REDD+ on the well-being of collectively titled communities. Case study of the communities of Riscales in Nuquí Colombia”. This research was developed in the Land at Scale project framework and shows the strengths and weaknesses that the organization and the communities have to face the challenges of a REDD+ project.

The possibility of continuing the training to consolidate the skills required to face the new challenge of territorial and environmental governance is being evaluated.
